reading in GPIO state

Hi,

I'm not the programmer for our team, but since our programmer's progress is slow, I'm trying to do some research for her before hand so we can make good progress tomorrow.

How would I read in...

Re: DIP switches for autonomous modes

Thanks Lucas and apalrd! Unfortunately, I'm not the programmer of the team so I don't know about the PSoC or the driver station DIO. I know we're using the classmate, but other than that I'm...

DIP switches for autonomous modes

Hi, Were wanting to use DIP switches to select between different autonomous behavior prior to our matches without needing to reprogram. We would connect them to the GPIO pins.

Since the signal pins...

LEDs on Robot

Hi,

Is is permitted to have additional LEDs on the robot? If so, which set of outputs are we allowed to use? We switch our robots front and back assignments by inverting our controls and we would...

Inverting controls in Java

Hi,

Unfortunately, I'm not the programmer for my team, but I did pretty much all of our programming when we were using C. This means that I don't know the Java lingo either. So please bare with...

legality of bolt and screw heads breaking plane of chassis meeting bumpers

Hi,

I should have thought of this earlier, but our robot design is such that our wheel brackets are flush against the surface of the chassis of our robot. To assemble the wheel brackets, we use...

Re: lift winch ideas anyone?

Thanks for the replies everyone! Great advice! So in response to the last reply, is a CIM powerful enough to drive a winch drum directly and lift the robot? I was thinking about a worm and worm gear...

Re: lift winch ideas anyone?

Thank you Jun! I think I was thinking about a rule from a previous season which allowed the use of only 4 CIMs. Its nice to know that we are allowed to use 5 instead of 4.

Re: lift winch ideas anyone?

Thanks Eric and Timy! We have the FP motors, and the small motors left in the KOPs. We might consider ordering a few CIMs.

How does this idea sound? A CIM (or two CIMs) attached to a worm gear/...

lift winch ideas anyone?

Hi,

I've recently just started designing our lifter. Unfortunately, I don't have permission to release our idea, but what I can say is that we are using a winch type mechanism.

I want to design a...

increasing flow rate to pnuematic cylinder

Hi, you guys probably already know about this, but we're pretty disappointed at the velocity of the pnuematic cylinders. I've heard that this is partially due to the diameter of the tubes.

Does...

cylinder count

Does anyone know if there is a limit to how many storage cylinders we can use on the bot? This is just to reduce the load on the compressor and to keep the recharge times short.

Here is a...
