Re: 2017 Miami Valley Regional (formerly Queen City)

Hope all that need to get in to MVR can! Sadly, Week 2 is a conflict for a major event at our school so we'll be missing out on competing at MVR this year.

I intend to volunteer and bring a few...

Re: FIRST Server Issues

My dashboard is back up and running, I'm still showing as registered for GPR. Wonder if that registration will stand.

Re: [FIRST EMAIL] Stop Build Day Survey

I have to admit that when I received this survey, I was concerned that some hidden negative effects might outweigh the obvious positives of eliminating the Stop Bag Day. HOWEVER, after reading...

Re: FIRST for English Language Learners

No, we are not the same school. Actually, I didn't know that this school existed. Sounds like a school that needs an FRC program :D I'll have to look them up.

This is an awesome place to start and...

FIRST for English Language Learners

So, I have the distinct privilege of working with a school that has a robust international student program. Our international students come mostly from China and Korea, although we have a few from...

Re: Recent Kit Base Performance

We have used the kit chassis with great success for many years, but we usually modify it in some way. Here's our history:

2012--(rookie year) completely standard kit chassis, but with larger...

Re: pic: Stronghold AMAA Live with Frank 6/21 8:30PM EST!

Our team had communication issues that only presented while connected to the FMS this season (and in previous years as well). This is a weakness that we would like to correct on our end, but this is...

Re: Was the Low Bar worth it?

We chose to not go low bar, and I'm 100% certain that was the right choice for us. I don't believe we had the design experience to have pulled that packaging off effectively.

HOWEVER. Our high CG...

Re: Dear FIRST HQ, Let's talk about the playoff pits.

Over at Carson, we had a volunteer tell us we couldn't be out there to watch matches. I was confused, but complied. Luckily someone else on our field must have raised the issue because we had someone...

Re: Orange County Totebot Race Competition

As an autocrosser and robotics coach, I'm so upset that I didn't come up with this idea. This is the best thing ever.

I impatiently await video of this awesome event!

Re: How do you design a robot that doesn't brownout?

Michael,

I like this concept, its a good way to think through a match--particularly in a game like 2015, where the procedures are fairly consistent.

Do you plan to use this to do load-shedding...

Re: Best way to cool CIM motors?

If you have concerns about weight, I'll suggest our solution to a similar problem that didn't cost any weight. Or rather, ask a question: Can you strategically afford to be holding up totes less...

Re: Shifting with servos

We are using an AM supershifter for our prototype winch mechanism. With a full load on our catapault, we could not get the dog to disengage even at 60 psi. I would be VERY doubtful that a servo...
