I'm not sure what you mean by the above, but there IS a right way and a wrong way to mount the mecanum wheels.
Take a look at
this thread. The "X" and "O" mentioned in the post is the visual appearance of the mecanum
rollers. The
wheels themselves should all be aligned parallel to the robot's fore/aft axis.
