You won't be using your DAP as a bridge until you go to a competition event. If things go as I expect them to, there will be an automated "FRC Radio Kiosk" that will set up everything for you.

How do you know it isn't saving the settings? If it's just a matter of failing to show you a confirmation screen, that's easy to explain -- you've just changed the DAP's address, but your computer is still trying to connect to the original address.

You don't need to set up bridge mode for development at home. You won't be using it that way (unless you do some fancy undocumented networking setup using other equipment that might work okay but is neither supported nor sanctioned this year).
