the cRIO imaging tool should work with Win 7 (it worked with my laptop running 7). To get to the network adapter configuration, click on start, type in "network and sharing center" and click on it, click "change adapter settings" on the left panel, right click on Local Area Connection and select properties, and set the static IP as per the document.
