No need to put a fan on the compressor for competition use it is designed to take the heat. It's native environment is under a vehicle hood which can reach an "ambient" temp of ~200 degrees and it's 9% duty cycle and max run time of 3 minutes was developed for long term longevity (many years) operating in that environment. Of much bigger concern is the fact that you removed the factory installed check valve. You need to remove your manifold and install it after the check valve. That will allow it to release some of it's head pressure internally to reduce the start up load. Running it w/o the check valve voids it's warranty.
