Nope,
The dedicated 12 volt output that should now feed the 5 volt convertor for the Dlink is specially designed to supply 12 volts even as the battery voltage falls to 5.5 volts and below. The power supplies in the DSC will regulate even with the battery down to about 6.5-7 volts and can handle short drops below that. Connecting a 5 volt source to the power input on the DSC will not provide the voltages required for the DSC electronics.
