Thanks for the advice and link. As you can see below, we took the idea and modified it for our situation.

You are absolutely right, we did have plenty of room.


Here are some pictures of the final solution.






The new hub was cross drilled and bolted to prevent it from coming unscrewed.

This motor has so much power that we are limiting it to only 35% of max power.

The mounting bracket is 3/16 polycarbonate with a .5" ID flange bearing in it to support the shaft, and a shaft collar to keep it all together.
