I can tell you from experience that a sealed battery will almost defiantly blow up during a fault, actually a non sealed battery probably will too under the proper conditions. And there is usually quite a mess to clean up after.

Put some care into working with batteries everyone. Use insulated tools or wrap regular wrenches and drivers with electrical tape. Same goes for test probes for meters and such, as little exposed metal as possible.
