I agree the inconsistent CAN errors (such as ours) that people have gotten are a function of code. The problem is that they're near-impossible to reproduce in a controlled setting and its absolutely impossible to diagnose where the problem is occurring.
I highly suggest switching to PWMs if you're having this issue. The wiring sucks, but its worth it for consistent control if the robot.
