Encoders not giving me dashboard data and/or not responding

Hello all,

We have two encoders attached to our robot at the present time. Neither of these encoders are sending me back any information and I do not know how to proccede in my troubleshooting.

Right now we have the wires attached Blue- A, Orange- 5V, Brown- Grnd, and Yellow- B (as my team's last electronics guy assures me is the proper wiring). Then the B goes to its own DIO slot to the signal and the other 3 go to a different DIO slot on the Digital Sidecar.

The programming that I did is based on the Encoder example code that came with the Labview under the FRC examples (except broken up into the begin and teleop methods).

To troubleshoot so far I have tried putting the Get method for each encoder into my dashboard data (which I know works because I have other data coming to my dashboard that works properly). The numbers on both of these remains at 0. I have also put a piece of code in so that if the encoder get method returns a number greater that 5 or less then -5 would turn on some rollers we have. This never happened either.

I really don't know where to go from here and I would really like to have these encoders working for the Chesapeake Regional this weekend. Can anyone give me some ideas to make them work.

Thanks to any and all that help,
