Re: Encoders not giving me dashboard data and/or not responding

Make sure the encoder disk is the correct distance from the circuit board in the base. If it's too far away, you'll get inconsistent or no response. If it's too close, it might be damaged by rubbing against the mounting screws.

Check the A and B signals coming from the encoder to make sure they're toggling from 0 to 5 volts as the shaft turns.

Look at the dashboard DIO feedback to verify that the proper two signals are indeed changing as seen by the Digital Sidecar.

Show us the code you're using to open and read the encoder.
