Re: Role of Team Captain

Is your team captain guaranteed a drive team position each year?
Kind of is, but I have only been here 2 years, so that might just have been isolated incidents.
What are the responsibilities of your team's team captain?
To make the "final" decisions for the team. Whether it is design or strategy. However, I am highly opposed to that. It is more like autocratic government than a democracy.
How do you form your drive team each year?
We essentially ask our head mentor and he will say yes or no. From the years I been on the team, it was a leader, programmer and 2 competent drivers. The programmer is there to get direct feed back of actually driving the bot and adjusting the code for better handling.
What role(s) does your team captain preform on your team?
Head honcho. Like I said, I do not like that. The founding fathers made the executive branch have less power for a reason. If one person has the power to make important decisions and or veto them, I believe that is wrong. This constitution set up a government where laws being passed take a long route through the congress because it does not allow the president to make quick rash decisions. All decisions must be well thought through and debated.
