Thanks from Team 1511 to the other competitors, and the judges for 1511's chairman's award nod. We had so much fun at this regional - everything from helping other teams (by the end of the competition we'd counted over 60 individual "assists" to other teams - almost 1/2 the teams in the pits had an assist of one sort or another from 1511). We even were able to help out Pit Admin

to touring the mall and visiting the Air and Space museum. We fould all of the competitors at Washington to be gracious professionals, and fun competitors.
All in all we had as much fun working with everyone as we had actually competing with our robot. Despite some early mechanical problems the drive team really came together by the end of the competition. We were happy to be picked to team with the 4th seeded team and felt that the entire alliance gave it all on the field - we fought hard until PINK and their team eliminated us in the semifinals. Jason really showed them that he could "drive it like he stole it" when playing defense against the formidable PINK machine in our final match... It all came down to minibots that match as the tube score was pretty even.
We all look forward to seeing those that qualified in St. Louis, and were a bit disappointed we had to leave Washington - it was so nice and warm there (I know YOU think it was a cold snap - but to us that was shirtsleeve weather). When we got home it was in the 20's and there is still snow on the ground....
Cheers,
