I don't want to be the one forced to hang around in "maintenance mode" when a new project challenge shows up at the office and it's up for grabs.
My secret: I comment the heck out of everything I do
just so
any junior member can take charge of it, freeing me for better things.
The ones that "program for job security" are the ones that end up never getting a promotion. but hey, they got what they wanted!
