Re: pic: VIRSYS - coming soon

I threw this up in the image gallery so that I could reference it later in an introductory post. That has been delayed because I figured out that I need to get approval from FIRST to use the logos and ask permission in general to distribute the game / field on our own... It's the same type of arangement that 5th gear has so it should be straight forward. We just need to wait a little longer.

We had the simulation running in our pit at the Michigan State event last week, and we'll be showing it at Worlds too. So stop in and check it out!

Basically, we hook our LabView computer to a custom 3D physics model and image generator. From there we run our tele-op and autonomous modes exercising the actual simualtion code in real-time. We *can* simulate any configuration, but we're not quite there yet. Our model is VERY good for our robot, accurately supporting our PID level controllers to demonstrate skid steer turning effort, tip over, center wheel rocker oscillations, arm motions, etc. And we'll be showing you how to do the same.

The emphasis is on YOUR robot and virtual validation.

absolutely you can test different drive trains.

no - AI for other players is a long way off (if ever).
