They were part of the last round of waitlist adds along with 159, 188, & 1732. I know the FEDS were next on the FiM rankings for Championship.

Bye means that they get a free-be (is that how you say it?). If, for example, there were only enough teams to make seven alliances, the first seed alliance would get a "Bye" to the semifinals.
What he is talking about, I think, is the teams who are pre-qualified, either by being a hall of fame team, or winning last year, or being an enduring team, etc...
