This is just my opinion, but I'm sure it'll be optional.
Only rookies will get the new minis, while the vets continue with what they have.
Replacing 2000 working veteran units wouldn't make much sense for NI, especially for such an expensive donated component.
The only deal for FIRST is that there will have to be two different sets of FPGA images to manage and maintain.
Price point mentioned was $550 for the chassis and three modules (I assume: analog, digital, solenoid).
