I doubt I would be much help but if you want input from the community that is useful you really need to post what you have done, not what you are planning to do.

I am pretty sure the design you are using is not the problem, the problem is likely in the execution. Post up info (drawings, pictures, and details about your execution of the design, that will make it easier for the community to give you input.
