I'll put in a plug for my alma mater,
Missouri Science and Tech. There are about 5000 undergrads on campus (7000 total), and it's in a nice small town about 1.5 hours from Saint Louis down I-44. There is a lot of research on campus, and good EE and CS programs (as well as Comp E).
