Mineral oil won't explode; it isn't nearly volatile enough. Its flash point is well above what would make it a flammable liquid. Mineral oil
will burn (and produce nasty smoke) if you put it in contact with something hot enough for long enough, but that's true of many substances.
Perhaps you're thinking of mineral
spirits?
