LabVIEW is a really cool thing to know and learn, I think it deserves a lot more credit than many people in the programming world give it (but, that's a discussion for somewhere else). Knowing LV can be an amazing asset for a programmer in the real world (I'm currently using it in an internship of mine, and it's a project I would cringe at doing in another language)

NI has great resources and support for all things LabVIEW. If you need help with a general LV topic (i.e. not WPILib - for that, try the
FIRST Community), the
NI Developer Zone has some great resources, as do their
discussion forums. And, if you start up LabVIEW, on the getting started screen, and click on "Find FRC Examples" or "Getting Started Tutorials" you will find some instructions on doing many commonly used robot tasks. As for anything else, I'm sure the CD community can answer any other specific question that might arise.

As far as not utterly destroying things, my best advice is just to keep a cool head and remember that simplicity is key. And don't ever stop asking questions - if you're not sure about something,
ask, ask, ask away, either to a mentor or to CD. You'll be sure to be more knowledgeable than when you started.
Best of luck to you.
