Did Kevin ever get back to you? If not, sorry about that.
The barrels/revolver mechanism doesn't actually seal against the valve body block. The gap is minimal, and we simply let the valve open and deal with the air losses through the small gap. We still manage to get a good launch, and estimate we are only losing 20% of the velocity/distance of each shot.
Also, 2 weeks doesn't sound like enough time to make a similar mechanism work safely and effectively. We spent over 2 weeks simply testing and debugging the completed cannon. Designing it, procuring parts and building/assembling it took more than 8 weeks.
