According to AMD, the max die temp is 90 degrees C. If you get over that, you'll get a nice bit of smoke and a dead CPU. Practically, however, if my memory serves me correctly, on any of the current AMD Socket A processors, if your temp gets up around 70C or higher, you will start seeing problems...I might be wrong on that number, however, it's been a while since I've dealt with an overheating Athlon at work...
