For storing parameters on the cRIO, I think it would be a good idea to use INI files, which LV can handle pretty well. It's a nice section/key/value system that seems pretty good for storing robot parameters. (DISCLAIMER: I've not actually used this, my team is just planning on doing so next season. Your individual mileage may vary)
