  • We've broken 100 registered rookies.
  • 7 resurrected veteran teams (sat out 1 or 2 years)
  • 1 new "vet" team (2093 from Portland, OR)

As a general rule FIRST HQ makes Regional Directors reserve at least 10 slots. A few venues play with their numbers a bit during registration (like Utah), and in a pinch many can squeeze in a few more teams by reducing and rearranging the pit footprints. For my own accounting I usually assume the highest # of previous year teams at the same venue or the stated capacity+10 as the upper limit.

I think WPI can actually take 36 teams elbow-to-elbow.
Can't wait for the new facility to open for 2013, then we won't have the low overhead pits to contend with.
