The jump from Java to C#, if you decide to make it to take advantage of more code samples, is not a large one. In fact most people I have talked to find it easier to go from Java to C# than the other way. There are C# for Java programmers materials available as well. Switching to C# after the AP exam in order to create XBOX games using XNA is pretty common as well.
