On another note, if this,
"Just saw an elf run by with an FRC Kickoff clue tucked under his arm. Hmm, the new year must be approaching!" is hinting to anything at all, it could either be a football (or rugby ball) or present. What else would an elf carry around under their arm?
And the robot telling us that there are no hints yet looks like something we would see in the game animation (minus its santa hat).
