What is QUALITY and why do we need it?

This year, I would like to make a strong effort to improve the level of quality in everything we do on my team. The students have already heard it from me but I'd like them to hear it from someone else. So, for teams that highly value quality (254, 968, 1717, 60, 1538, 207, etc...) I'm looking at you. Please describe the mentality, processes, and procedures it takes to have a beautifully "polished" product, and why it is important to do so. And by product, I mean robot, team, personal character, and everything.
