Also, bumpers are 3" thick, not 4".

Based on what you quoted its not clear which vertex.
I could assume either the bumpers being 8in. in length or from the frame perimeter vertex moving inward.
If its just 8 in. of bumper length in the front, that's a huge difference from 12 in. opening to 18 in.
