Well, if you happen to be shooting from right next to the alley, and someone came in to collect balls, you'd probably be getting a few [G28] penalties, wouldn't you?

Here's the reasoning: you're blocking vision. Now, that's one that the opposing teams could complain to the ref about... or, if you're shooting from right next to their alley, it's a great time to come in and reload and happen to swing a little wide to mess up your shot--while being in contact with the alley. 3 points for them, you miss the shot, then they hit you again on the way out. Could this happen? Yes, quite possibly. Would they get a [G45]? Probably not, if they're making a legitimate play. Then the opponents complain to the ref that you're blocking vision... and see above for the penalties that can happen.

The shooting location placement would be legal, albeit risky.
