I was thinking of testing a sideway gyro and an accelerometer and see how it goes, but I was also going to add input from a sonar pointed down on the front and back to make sure it does not drive off and a sonar pointed forward and backward to detect other robots. Really this should be a human driver task, but a good "auto park" function could be handy.
