There is no noticeable difference. In the automotive world parts are sometimes listed by what they do and other times listed by what they move. A window lift motor is used in a vehicle that uses a "window lift mechanism". That is exactly the same as a window motor. Window lift motors usually apply to cars that use a cable drive to operate the windows on a track.
