I'd say pull hard with your pinky finger. If it doesn't come out, you're probably fine. Don't use electrical tape to keep the connection in. Without it being crimped, the connection is subject to high resistance, which will overheat the connector. Electrical tape should
ONLY be used for insulation purposes, and
NEVER to hold a wire in place.
