I think what you have said is good. The group needs to be limited for the reasons you said. If anyone else wants to throw in their $.02, they can click on the link.
A personal note: While it may seem cool to have that 'extra' power, it really isn't. The 'shine' of being a forum admin goes away after about two days.

And here, all it really means is that you will have to do a lot of extra work. Instead of giving an 'I think the answer is...' you will have to look up the answer and then post.
- Personally, being lazy me, I'd rather click on a link and then throw in my $.02.
The forum is a great idea & will help rookie teams a lot.
