wouldn't it be nice to stack them so that one box is right side up, second box is bottom side up, third is right side up, etc? they won't 'nest' that way, so I think every two boxes will count in hight as three? I'm not sure really about the height- i'm a metric person and really can't calculate in your imperial system.
