Smart Dashboard is still crashing. The tracker artifact below says that this was fixed in WPILib revision 3111, however, we are using WPILib 3111 (we confirmed over netconsole) and the bug is still present. The line that crashes:
SmartDashboard::GetInstance()->PutData(key, p);
where key = "pid_controller@0x011BA118" and p is a newly constructed SendablePIDController.
Since I don't have an account on FIRSTForge I can't reopen the tracker artifact, but I can confirm that the bug has not been fixed. Our code still crashes. I wasn't sure how to report the bug so hopefully someone who can contact the WPILib devs will see this post.
