Mid-Atlantic Robotics (MAR) adopted the District event format this year and is using the same qualifying format as Michigan.

To summarize, you get points for qualifying round wins and ties, alliance selections, elimination round points, and awards.
It is hard to judge what the cutoff for going to the state championship will be since it is the top X number of teams that qualify. I'm sure FIRST in Michigan has last year's results on their website to compare to. I would imagine the cutoff point will be similar.
