I actually had the opportunity to speak with one of the members of the GDC (Jeremy Roberts) on Saturday , and he said it was a very tough ruling. He personally liked 118's ingenuity and innovation, but the GDC decided to rule against it, citing G10 and defined "grasping, grappling, or attaching" as "Applying pressure to two or more sides of an arena structure".
