This. This this this 1000 times. This is the correct way of doing things. You see a man and his son wandering aimlessly around the pits? Go over and talk to them. Talk about the robots, the competition. Bring them over to your pit, give them a button.

Get anyone you can lay your eyes on involved in FIRST. We have a saying on Team 256, and that's "Nobody likes robotics until they make their first cut". Don't tell them about it, show them. Since it's competition, it may be hard to get them involved in the building of the robot, but be sure to show them everything you can.

For those who are thinking about inviting sponsors to your competition, and anyone else of importance, this is what you need to do. A little business tip from me to you.
