What you are describing to me doesn't seem accurate. I am in no way calling you a liar, but there are some things you say that don't look 100% accurate. I have never seen a regional where the not as good robots are chosen for alliances over the good ones.
Also, that is a great goal. Be proactive next year. You can't rely on the other team's scouters. Go up and show them yourselves.
