I have nothing against the teams that are receiving the awards, because they are GREAT teams and do even better jobs spreading FIRST. It just seems to me it discourages other teams from trying to standout. I know regionals have plenty of other good teams that never seem to get recognized.

The Chairman's award is not about being "good enough", it is about being the
best. Rewarding someone for being good enough is not the message we want to send our students. If a team is truly better than another, then it is the job of the team to convey that and prove to the judges that it is true.
