This is something the Ruckus committee is still looking at for 2012. Last year was our first look at the "top 4" restriction and changing/revising/removing that is certainly something we're looking at. As many of you long-time attenders know, we've done different things in the past with respect to alliance selection due to the smaller venue size (relative to a regional) with the goal of making the event both competitive and fun. We'll do our best again this year!
Someone asked about capacity -- we have a tentative floor plan with space for 32 teams, but this is not a hard cap and it incorporates a healthy amount of "elbow" room in isles, robot traffic lanes, etc. If there is an influx of registrations (hint??

) this can be adjusted and we can easily accommodate more teams!
I'd like to encourage all teams who plan to attend to register sooner rather than later. This generates more hype for the event and ultimately leads to a more epic experience for all involved! No payment is due now, so if you know you'll be coming there's nothing holding you back -- get your team leader to register!
