At the risk of going off topic, I'm going to reply to this by saying that I don't think it's as much how we value FIRST as much as it is about how the relative playing field compares to a team's respective robot.

A lot of the playing field is fairly even, so I think when a team sees their robot as effective as 70-80 percent of the other robots, there's a sense of complacency.

However, with the rise of regional powerhouses, such as our "Top 3", this pushes teams to go out and get better to simply stay competitive, and I believe this pushes a region to become better.
