Re: Design Process: 2012 Shooters

For our shooter this year we made a one axle, two wheel shooter. One major change we made between a regional and championships was we changed from one large wheel to two smaller wheels, which seemed to provide more accuracy. We used a CIM motor to power the wheels. We also used PVC wood to make a compression guide, which was basically two curved pieces that the ball would go through. One problem we had was the ball would shoot before the shooter wheels were up to full speed, so we put on a vex kit wheel to stop the ball before it got to the shooter wheels. During matches the balls would picked up and be stopped at the top by the VEX wheel, which was very effective. I'll try to find a picture to add to this post later.
