Re: Non-Robotic Related Hobbies
When I'm not doing robotics, there are many hobbies and interests. My bucket list is four lifetimes long!
Some of the majors are:
Running. 5Ks, 10Ks, and half-marathons. Maybe I'll throw in a full marathon next year.
Snowboarding. I started snowboarding in 1983 for any of you younger types that think I started snowboarding to connect with my kids. I actually raced in the US Open for two years, downhill and slalom. I still race slalom even during build season. That's my latest ride a custom Donek board. Its a Bertaletti GS model hard booter with Catek OS2 bindings. I love going really fast and powerful carving. I'll leave the parks and pipes for you younger riders with better backs. If you're curious about hard boot snowboarding or going fast, look for me at New England ski areas.
Model Railroading. I prefer the path less traveled. I model in HOn3 scale (narrow gauge - only 3' between the rails). I don't currently have a layout, but I'm planning for one soon. I like to scratch build (use as few commercial parts as possible) models. This one is a prototype caboose in HOn3 with a full interior I'm slowly finishing. This one is a great test of my mid-life eyes as it's less than 4" long. It's great to see I'm in good company with you other CD model railroaders.
Keeping busy is living!
