Last summer I took up homebrewing as a hobby and haven't looked back. I've gone from buying simple extract kits to crafting my own recipes and buying grain in bulk to mill as needed. You gain a real respect for the amount of variables that affect your end product, and you end up with a great tasting beer or cider that you made yourself.
