Re: Colson center drop
We did 6 wheel short with six inch colsons, 1/8" drop. That combined with a precarious CG was too "tippy" for us, especially on the bridge, so we removed the center wheel and ran the whole season just fine. Basically, for a wide base you only need 4 wheels. You probably won't have a problem with "tippiness", but it's neat that you don't need to do anything special to make a wide base turn well with Colsons.
