I just watched all of the videos that FRC put out on Youtube (they are very interesting, but I wonder what was in part one and two of the videos they removed) a few months back of their live q&a session on the GDC and other misc. stuff.
I took away from it that, pertaining to next years game -
a) The kinect will stay, and he seemed particularity interested about it being used ON the robot
b) They will keep the live scoring of the game
c) The want the crowd to be entertained
d) Coopertition is definitely here to stay (him responding specifically that they liked the coopertiton bridge and such)
e) When asked about a water game (I have to bring it up, also, watch it
here) , he said that no games will be taking place in pools (
) but water as an element in the gameplay is an option. He also fake-answered "with water in it"
here, but Im fairly confident he's just trolling us. If I were him, I sure would, so why not?
