I was wondering about this. I've been communicating with a FIRSTer in Australia (we are looking to set up a team at our sister school, Servite College in Perth, for 2014) and they said that all but a few teams in Australia are just participating at the
Duel Down Under in July. The few that are competing at a Regional are doing so in Hawaii. My assumption was that they registered for
a regional so that they could receive their KOP, team number, and status as an FRC team.
